where can I find my mind, if it has been lost in all the reflections

Where can I find my mind… reflects a time in which I sought out constructive criticism from my creative circle and allowed those perspectives to significantly redirect my process. I began this piece with little planning, working directly from a photo reference of myself. Over the course of a year, and through numerous group critiques with peers and professors, the painting evolved through a series of deliberate design decisions that ultimately reshaped its meaning.
These changes guided the work toward my interest in surrealism, while minimizing recognizable subject matter that might impose an unintended narrative. The piece explores repetition, surrealism, and hyperrealism as key visual elements. Underlying themes include the mundane, anxiety, and a sense of disconnection from reality.
